We’re smack dab in the middle of the summer, so\u00a0finding ways to cool down<\/a> in this heat wave is on the top of our to-do list.<\/p>\n

If you’re lucky enough to have A\/C, hanging out indoors with some Netflix and chill isn’t a bad idea. But if you’re looking to do something more active with your time, we’ve got the perfect DIY: a mini succulent garden!<\/p>\n

It’s super practical and it’s a great way to recycle while brightening up your living space.\u00a0Read on for our quick tutorial on how to create your own succulent garden:<\/p>\n

Supplies:\u00a0<\/strong>
\n1 FabFitFun Box (if you don’t have one yet, snag one today!<\/a>) or an old shoe box
\n4-5 succulents of your choice
\n1 gallon Ziploc bag of potting soil
\n1 garbage bag
\nDuct tape
\nBox cutter
\nScissors
\n2-3 photo clips
\nDecorations (i.e. stones, moss)<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"step1\"<\/a>Step 1:<\/strong> Remove the top of your FabFitFun box using the box cutter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Step 2:<\/strong> Measure the garbage bag to the bottom of the box and mark the dimensions. Cut the garbage bag and use duct tape to secure it to the bottom of the box. This will protect the cardboard\u00a0when watering the succulents.<\/p>\n

\"step3\"<\/a>Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Carefully use your scissors to poke\u00a0holes throughout the bottom of the box. This will help to drain the excess water.<\/p>\n

\"step4\"<\/a>Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0Fill your\u00a0box with\u00a0potting soil<\/a>\u00a0and leave around one inch at the top!\u00a0Be sure to pat down the soil and spread it evenly throughout the box.<\/p>\n

\"step5\"<\/a>Step 5:<\/strong> Now that your box is set up, it\u2019s time to add your\u00a0succulents<\/a>! Make sure the succulents’ roots are completely submerged in the soil.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0Your garden\u00a0isn’t complete without a little bling! Add your desired decor to the box\u00a0like\u00a0tiny stones<\/a>, colorful moss<\/a>,\u00a0or some adorable clips with photos.<\/p>\n

\"final\"<\/a>Step 7:<\/strong> Lastly, put\u00a0your succulent garden\u00a0in a spot\u00a0where it’ll catch sunlight.\u00a0Water your succulents once a week and give them enough water so that it runs out of the drainage holes.<\/p>\n
