But fins is definitely a first &#8212; mermaid fins, to be exact.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoteldel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hotel del Coronado<\/a> in California just announced the launch of a new <a href=\"http:\/\/hoteldel.com\/del-activities\/mermaid\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mermaid Fitness<\/a>\u00a0class, taking place every Friday at 8 a.m. at their Beach Village pool. The class is taught by the hotel&#8217;s fitness instructor Veronica Rohan and entails 45 minutes of \u00a0swimming, core, cardio, and strength training &#8212; all while wearing a brightly colored mermaid tail.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" itemprop=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-82319\" src=\"https:\/\/static-blog.fabfitfun.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/19192128\/Mermaids-2.jpg\" alt=\"Mermaids-2\" width=\"500\" height=\"322\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s circuit training mixed with an ab workout on the side of the pool,\u201d Rohan\u00a0told <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/good-sweat\/the-hottest-new-piece-of-workout-equipment-is-a-mermaid-tail\/\" target=\"_blank\">Well + Good<\/a><\/em>. \u201cYou\u2019ll swim laps to get your heart rate up, and I also included standing stationary movements, like squats and arm exercises with a beach ball.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>$20 covers the class ($15 for San Diego residents and $10 for members), use of a Del mermaid tail, free parking, and towel service.\u00a0Considering the average $30 cost of a spin class, we&#8217;re pretty stoked on this fin-tastic deal.
