But as much as we love the stuff, it’s definitely a real pain to take off — some removing agents are too drying, others just rub the product around, and let\u2019s face it, \u201craccoon eyes\u201d isn\u2019t a good look for anyone.<\/p>\n

\nThe trick is to avoid waterproof mascara. Unless you\u2019re going to be doing a lot of crying at a wedding (and even then, you\u2019ll be reapplying additional makeup anyway), there\u2019s really no reason for it. Start the removal process with water to loosen up the product without being too abrasive.<\/p>\n
\nCotton pads\u00a0are better than their cotton ball counterparts because they don\u2019t leave any residue behind on your face or in your eyes. Douse a cotton round with the oil of your choice (coconut,\u00a0olive, and jojoba are all solid choices) and lay it flat on your eyes to let your lashes soak up the product. This will further loosen up the makeup so you can avoid rubbing and losing lashes in the process.<\/p>\n
\nUse gentle, downward motions to remove the mascara (and any other eye makeup you might have on). Remember, eyes are a super sensitive part of the face, so treat them gently. Once you\u2019ve gotten the bulk of the mascara off (around the time you probably look like a panda), rinse everything off and proceed to remove the rest of your makeup.<\/p>\n
