Are you a member of the mile high club? Do you want to be?
Wingman, a upcoming app from Buzzfeed writer Gabe Whaley, could help you get it on in the air. Or at least connect you with the good looking passengers around you.
Like the popular dating app Tinder, Wingman allows users to create a profile and flip through other passengers on their flight. If you come across someone you like, you can start up an online conversation, and maybe even make plans to meet up when you land (or in the on board restroom). That is, if that captain ever turns off the fasten seatbelt sign.
Whaley thinks it’s a great way to overcome obstacles presented by unlucky seating assignments. In an interview with ANIMAL he said, “I’m pretty sure that at some point, anyone who’s flown has had a thought like, ‘I wonder what it would be like to talk to that person. Too bad it’s never going to happen, because the seating arrangement didn’t provide for that.’”
Ridiculous? Brilliant? Both?
We’re not sure hooking up with a stranger at 30,000 feet is the best idea, but it could be a great way to meet that cute guy you passed in first class on the way to your spot in coach.
Wingman is still in development, but you can sign up now to receive updates on its progress.
Would you use it to meet people on your flight? Let us know in the comments!
