Here at FabFitFun, we’re big fans of holidays. Halloween, Christmas, National Flashlight Day (it’s Dec. 21)…you name it, we celebrate it!

So of course when we found out that this Sunday (May 26) is Chardonnay Day we freaked out and declared it to be National “Day We Found Out About Chardonnay Day” Day. (OK, so we were a little overly excited!) But seriously, we definitely will be celebrating this Sunday, and we plan to do it with a little extra flair. We found this uh-mazing recipe for a White Wine Granita from Saveur, and we’ve got the perfect bottle of Chardonnay to mix up an awesome concoction!

White Wine Granita

Ingredients:
2 cups full-bodied white wine (Try our favorite Chardonnay from Clos du Bois!)
1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
Dried apple slices, for serving

Directions:
Place wine, juice, sugar, and ⅓ cup water in a bowl, and whisk until sugar is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Pour into a 9″ x 13″ baking dish, cover with plastic wrap, and place in the freezer. Using the tines of a fork, stir the mixture every 30 minutes, scraping edges and breaking up any ice chunks as the mixture freezes, until granita is slushy and frozen, about 3 hours. Scoop into chilled serving glasses and top with apple slices, if desired.
