Wait, you can swipe right not only for dating, but also for platonic friendships? Yes, you can! Bumble, originally a dating app where women make the first move, recently added an option in the app where you can find your next BFF. Time to search for the next addition to your #squad! Similar to dating apps like Tinder and Hinge, you can upload your own profile with a few photos of yourself and a brief bio. It also pulls information from your Facebook and lists your occupation, the school you graduated from, and where you’re located.
You have the option to choose how close or far you’d like your BFF to be located and the age range. Bumble works as a mutual opt in by swiping right. Once you swipe right, the other party must swipe right, as well, and then a conversation is in place. If you or the other party don’t initiate a conversation within 24 hours, the connection is gone for good.
Some might think this dating app is weird and others might see it as an opportunity to meet new people if they move to a new city, or even to network!
