Below are two of my favorite Smart Snacks that I recommend to my clients when prepping them for awards season and other big events. These snacks will help give you lasting energy, clear skin, and a calm, poised demeanor. Food is the best medicine and you truly can Eat Yourself Gorgeous.

My De-Bloating “Bliss in a Cup” Parfait

Mix 2/3 cup of plain non-fat Greek yogurt, one tablespoon of cinnamon, one tablespoon of Stevia and berries if desired for extra flavor.

Greek yogurt has double the amount of protein than normal yogurt, this will keep you more full for a longer amount of time because it will keep your blood sugar levels stable which will reduce your energy highs and lows. Greek yogurt is loaded with healthy bacteria which is fantastic for cleansing your digestive tract, debloating and a great immune system booster.

Due to the rich creamy texture and high protein content, I use Greek yogurt as a healthy cooking swap with a majority of my clients (you can find my Pineapple Cream Cup recipe here and my Dark Chocolate Shake recipe here).

Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices. Why? Cinnamon is a natural metabolism booster, increases post-meal satisfaction levels (which will curb unhealthy junk food cravings), transforms the taste of any dish, and is a great stomach soother before a big event.

My Soothing Cha-Cha Chia Pudding

Add two tablespoons of chia seeds in ½ cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk with one tablespoon of Stevia (an all natural sweetener from the Stevia leaf, which does not spike your blood sugar levels).

Almond milk contains potassium. Potassium is fantastic for cleansing your system of toxins and perfect to debloat before a big event. Hello flat belly, bye-bye bloat. Almond milk also contains heart healthy fats that are great for stress reduction.

Chia seeds are tiny but fierce and one of my favorite nutrient dense bites. Chia seeds are edible seeds from a dessert plant in Mexico and were used by ancient Aztec warriors during long battles for endurance. These guys have over 27 different nutrients from magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc as well as complete protein to keep you more full for a longer amount of time.

Magnesium is known as a relaxation mineral and is great to ease pre-award jitters. Magnesium also slows down the signs of aging, giving skin a youthful dewy glow. The combination of protein and healthy fat in chia seeds will give you lasting energy and fuel without spiking your blood sugar levels.
