When it comes to taking care of your skin, giving yourself an at-home mask 2-3 time a week is key. Your mask can remove the impurities that your facial cleanser might not be able to. I’ve been on a mud mask kick lately and I’ve realized that the deep cleansing it provides can really improve the look of your complexion.

Mud masks are awesome at minimizing pores, improving elasticity, and decreasing the look of wrinkles/lines. They also help moisturize, reduce redness, and exfoliate. They typically tingle at first when you put it on but as it dries, you can see where some problem spots were (which is good to know so you know if you need to treat certain areas). Average time to keep these masks on is for 20 minutes. Then voila!
I’ve been trying some mud masks for the past few months as I am super acne prone, have super red blemishes, scars and UV damage, so I’ve got to say…these mud masks are worth it! I’ve noticed great improvements in my complexion, even after one use!

I’d love to share with you some of my favorites:

glamglow

1. GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment
This stuff is awesome. I’ve been using it when my skin looks dull and/or when I feel my skin needs a deep cleansing. This stuff is a bit pricy ($69), but it’s well worth it.

cranberry

2. MyChelle Cranberry Mud Mask
It was very smoothing, calming, and hydrating. Perfect for oily skin! (around $25)

botanics

3. Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask with Willow Bark
It’s a bit watery at first, but it’s perfect for acne prone skin. This mask doesn’t get itchy as it’s drying either, plus it’s comes at a great price ($10 at Target).
