Here in LA, people like to be catered to. So it’s no surprise that we’ve got restaurants where you can order your couture with a cup of soup.
The famous eatery Mauro’s Cafe at Fred Segal has been feeding hungry fashionistas and power-lunchers at the Melrose hotspot for years, giving new meaning to the saying “dining in style.”
Recently though, they introduced their afternoon-only establishment to the LA nightlife with their new Thursday night tasting menu.
Now you can get a designer dress, dinner with a DJ, and the potential of spotting a celebrity, all in one.
In keeping with the needs of the fit-bodied fashion crowd, Mauro’s serves up healthy dishes so you can have your Chloe and wear it too.
The seven-course tasting menu changes weekly and includes delicious dishes like scallops over an heirloom tomato salad, skirt steak, striped bass, and something to keep us Angelenos warm in this harsh 70-degree fall weather: soup!
Unlike some of the clothes inside Fred Segal though, Mauro’s soup is no-frills.
It’s the perfect fuss-free dish for gals who are too busy browsing Shopbop and working to spend hours in the kitchen. Despite the perceived simplicity though, this soup packs flavor.
The vegetable stock and bay leaves bring a savory complexity to the soup, and the touch of truffle oil adds just the flair you’d expect from a dish hailing from one of LA’s top shopping spots.
So throw on your (preferably Marc Jacobs) apron and whip up this fabulous soup.
