Instagram is stepping up their privacy game.
The social media platform rolled out with new updates, and we’re curious to see if it changes the dynamics of the app.
Instagram now allows any user to turn off commenting on specific Instagram posts. Simply click into “Advanced Settings” when uploading a post and switch the toggle on “Turn Off Commenting.” If you change your mind and want to turn on comments after a post has been uploaded, you can easily switch it back and vice versa.
Users also have the option to “like” comments (via a heart) on Instagram posts. And if you have a private account, you can easily remove a follower without notifying them — similar to unfriending on Facebook.
Instagram has announced these features as an initiative to “keep people safe,” and create a more welcoming space for users — that’s something we can get behind!
