A graduate of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Dr. Buka completed an internship in internal medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. He then moved West to finish a dermatology residency at the University of California, San Diego and a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Buka also holds a law degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York City.
Dr. Buka currently serves as the Section Chief at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is double board-certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. He speaks at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology on topics ranging from complex eczema to techniques in dermatologic surgery. His articles have been published in dermatology and plastic surgery textbooks as well as a number of medical research journals. He is also on the advisory boards of both Skin & Aging Magazine and the Journal of Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational dermatology.
Currently Dr. Buka has two practice locations: Bobby Buka MD PC by the South Street Seaport in Downtown Manhattan, and Williamsburg Dermatology PC in Brooklyn. Dr. Buka’s medical practice focuses on conditions such as: acne, eczema and mole evaluations, while his cosmetic practice aims at reversing scars, spider veins, and signs of both photodamage and photoaging. Dr. Buka is a fluent speaker of Spanish, and enjoys surfing, biking, and talking skin with Giuliana Rancic!
