Now is the moment when you realize you’ve been doing any of the following over the past few weeks:

  1. Indulging a wee bit too much in ‘holiday cheer’ AKA eggnog
  2. Binging on all of the holiday candy…and fruit cakes
  3. Lounging by a pool somewhere warm while on vacation and only moving from your chair in order to get another daiquiri
  4. All of the above

Sounds to me like you’re in dire need of a detox, missy. Not to worry though…I’ve been preparing for your freak out, and I have compiled several healthy smoothie recipes from the interwebs to detoxify your body. 

The Green Machine. Add a peeled, frozen banana to a blender with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Add a ½ cup of fat-free vanilla Greek yogurt. Add in 1 cup of unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze ‘milk,’ and 4 handfuls of spinach. Blend all ingredients and enjoy! Spinach is high in fiber and antioxidants, while bananas are a great source of potassium.

Berry Nice. Place 2 handfuls spinach, ½ cup skim milk, ½ cup unsweetened pineapple juice, ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks, 1 cup blueberries, and ½ cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt into a blender. Blend to combine. Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit.

The Good Morning. Take 1 ¼ cups of strawberries, ½ cup of low fat plain yogurt, 1 banana, 1 ¼ cups of orange juice, and 1 tablespoon of Splenda and add them to a blender. Orange juice and strawberries are both great sources of Vitamin C, which help to boost your immune system.
