This season, we’re incredibly honored to work with City of Hope: an organization that’s dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and other deadly illnesses while also positively impacting patients’ lives during and after treatment.

“A few years ago, I decided to get tested for the BRCA gene mutation because of my strong family history of breast cancer. After discovering I tested positive for both BRCA 1 and 2, I went to City of Hope and met with Dr. Daphne Stewart, an oncologist who specializes in breast cancer. She took the time to not only understand my immediate concerns, but also utilized genetic counseling to give us both a better sense of my overall outlook. As a result, we decided on a routine screening regimen and it was the very next MRI that caught a four-millimeter tumor in early 2018.
While I credit my optimistic attitude for helping me through my cancer journey (which included surgery and chemotherapy), I can’t thank my stellar medical team enough for their brilliance and compassion. Dr. Stewart, Dr. Veronica Jones, and Dr. Wai-Yee Li are such incredibly talented individuals — I’ve kind of become their unofficial cheerleader. In addition to the staff, it’s the wonderful volunteers that also make City of Hope such a reputable place! Cancer is something I hope no one has to face, but I feel so lucky for what City of Hope has given to people like me.”
