Fidget: Ever wonder why some gals can eat whatever they want and never gain an ounce? Fidgeting could be the answer — pacing around during the day could burn an extra 350 calories and that equals a loss of up to 40 pounds a year — without ever going to the gym!
Eat Naked: Supermodel Marisa Miller swears by eating naked, telling Women’s Health, “Eating smart is all about having an awareness of your body…the most obvious way to do that is by seeing it. I don’t think I could eat a plate of nachos naked.”
Eat with Your Non-Dominant Hand: A study from the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that snackers who typically ate popcorn at the movies consumed less when eating with their less-favored hand. Because it doesn’t feel natural, you’re less apt to mindlessly eat. We guess if you really want to lose weight you should eat with your toes.
Photograph Your Food: Get artsy! Make your plate fancy and it will inevitably look prettier and have less food. Plus, actually seeing what you’re eating will trigger mental cues to eat healthier; dieters are less likely to eat chocolate and junk, because they’re ashamed to take pictures of unhealthy food! It can also highlight the deficiencies in your diet. More vegetables, anyone?
Use Chopsticks: Using chopsticks to eat forces you to be mindful, because it’s too hard to pile on the food between two wooden sticks! This trick also makes you look super sexy, too!
