Shake Your Money Maker
Tips to earn cash on the side
We all know money can’t buy happiness, but it can definitely help! Whether you have a 9-5 job you love (or hate), take on multiple gigs to pay the bills, or are a full-time student, there is always a way to earn some extra spending cash. The best part? Have fun while you do it!
We’re here to help you get more bang for your buck by using your talents. Read on for six tips to make it rain year-round!
Tutor: Just because you haven’t taken a math class in 10 years doesn’t mean you can’t help little Timmy with his homework. Post flyers in your neighborhood or talk to the local elementary school about your credentials and expect to be paid anywhere from $15-$30 an hour!
Babysit: While not the most glamorous job in the world, it pays, and it’s something you can do after work. Make your hourly rate clear. The more experienced you are, the more you can charge.
Pet/House Sit: It’s amazing what people will pay you to simply sleep at their house to make sure it doesn’t get robbed or go up in flames. This job is perfect for the 9-5 gal, as you can just plan on a mini vay-k in someone else’s home after work!
Write: If you are talented with words, find newspapers, magazines, or blogs that pay freelancers for articles. Not the most lucrative way to make extra moolah, but the little you do make can be your coffee budget for the week! Anything helps, right?
Bake: Love to make cookies? Good, because people love to eat them! Learn to decorate cookies or cupcakes for special occasions like office parties, school functions, or bridal showers, and create your own mini-business. Print stickers or business cards to go with your treats so those who enjoy them will hire you in the future!
Enter Contests: It may sound silly, but there are a lot of companies that offer cash prizes for simply entering and (here’s the kicker)…winning. If it’s free to enter then give it a whirl! You’ve got nothing to lose!
