    Mrs. Kobe Bryant dishes on her gorgeous hair, her kids, and why she won’t do reality TV

    What would it be like to be married to one of the most famous, most talented athletes of all time?

    We bet that the gorgeous Vanessa Bryant certainly knows a thing or two about that!

    We chatted with the fab fashionista about her chic style sense, her fitness secrets, and of course what it’s like to be married to Kobe Bryant!

    How would you describe your personal style?
    My personal style is pretty “relaxed glam.” I really decide what I’m going to wear in a few minutes. I don’t overly think or plan things to wear. I’m always with my girls so I have been used to putting my makeup on in less than five minutes and picking out clothes and getting dressed in 15 minutes. Blow drying my hair takes the longest because my hair is really long and thick and retains a lot of water.

    Who is your ultimate style icon?
    My ultimate style icon would have to be Monica Bellucci. Love her!

    You and Kobe founded the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation. What does it mean to you to be able to help kids in need?
    My mom raised my sister and me as a single parent until she remarried. Thankfully, we never went without anything we needed, but I certainly am grateful that my mom worked two jobs, owned our home and didn’t ask for anyone’s help to support us. It certainly wasn’t easy though. I most definitely have compassion for people who have been dealt unfortunate circumstances. If we can help improve someone’s life by creating awareness to a solvable problem and provide a clean and safe environment for them to go to for support, necessities, and guidance to overcome their situation, then we are all for it.

    How has motherhood changed your life? How do you stay balanced?
    Motherhood is the most rewarding and amazing thing that I think a woman can experience. I love my children more than anything and my goal is to be the solid rock and constant security for them. Motherhood has most definitely taught me to be selfless, patient, understanding, and to always think of my children and their very best interests before thinking of my own. I stay balanced by trying to schedule an hour of “me time.” Even if it is an hour of paying my personal trainer to kick my butt.

    Any secrets for keeping healthy and happy with such a busy schedule?
    I think trying to find time for myself as a hands-on mom and having a husband who has a job that requires him to be away from our family 75% of the time is very difficult. But I try to eat as healthy as I can and try to do Pilates a minimum of four times a week for an hour.

    What’s the best part about being married to a professional athlete?
    First thing that comes to mind is cutting in line at Disneyland! It may sound silly, but if you’ve ever visited a packed theme park with kids you know exactly why that comes in handy.

    Do you and the girls go on the road to Kobe’s games, or stick to home games?
    I’m up at 6:30 a.m. every day with my girls and they have their own extracurricular activities so I’m at their games or practices until about 6 p.m. some nights. Then I take them home, get them ready for bed, take a shower and get dressed to drive an hour to LA to be at Kobe’s games as often as I can. I certainly don’t miss any games or events he specifically asks me or needs me to be at. So when you see a photo of me and I look “busted,” you know it’s been a long day!

    You are in uh-mazing shape! How do you stay active? Any fitness tips you can give us?
    Thank you. I wish I was in uh-mazing shape! I do Pilates about four times a week but it’s really hard to get cardio in when I have to get as many things done as possible before doing things with my girls. I used to do the 50- and the 100-yard dash as a kid so long distance running isn’t my thing. I absolutely despise dieting but it’s something I have to do if my schedule does not allow me to get the cardio I need to stay in shape.

    What’s your favorite healthy snack?
    My favorite healthy snack would have to be jalapeño hummus and celery.

    What is one food you wish had zero calories?
    My vice is soda. So if regular Coca-Cola had zero calories and tasted “non-diety” then that would be uh-mazing!

    You have gorgeous hair! What’s your go-to product for your shiny locks?
    Thanks! My go-to product for shiny hair is a small dab of Moroccan Oil on damp hair before I blow dry it.

    What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?
    Seriously, I use unscented Dove soap. I rarely break out when I use it. It can make my skin dry so I use La Mer lotion on my face when my skin feels too dry for comfort and I use a blemish remover from my dermatologist, Dr. Lancer.

    We can’t lie, reality TV is our guilty pleasure. Do you have any shows you can’t miss?
    I don’t really get a chance to watch TV most days but I love The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I also enjoy watching Giuliana & Bill. I’m not just saying that. I really related to Giuliana because I had what’s considered “high-risk” pregnancies. Although I got pregnant naturally, it was very difficult to get pregnant and stay pregnant with my children even though I was 19 and 23 years old when my girls were conceived.

    Would you ever consider having cameras follow you around for a reality show?
    Absolutely 100% no. Kobe and I were approached to do a reality show after Nick and Jessica started Newlyweds, then they wanted my friend La-La and I to do one, years ago. I really enjoy my privacy and I love being my goofy and sarcastic self with family and friends. I certainly don’t want to enable people to think they have a significant opinion on what goes on in my life.

    Do your girls play any sports?
    Yes! My goal is to always find a way to allow my girls to do the sports, dance, and music programs they want without overwhelming their weekly schedules. My girls are three years apart so unfortunately they can’t play on the same team or level so my schedule is pretty full. Giving them the opportunity to be involved in the activities they want to be involved in is well worth it though.

    Name three things you have in your purse at all times.
    My cell, Neo To-Go, and my wallet.

    What are some of your favorite jams on your workout playlist?
    Anything Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Snoop, Kanye and J-Lo. I like upbeat pop songs to make workouts fly by.

    Your busy schedule must get hectic at times. What’s your favorite way to unwind with the fam?
    My girls, Kobe and I are extremely competitive and we have “teams.” Usually, Natalia and I are on the “Fabulous” team and Kobe and Gianna are on the “Mamba” team. We love playing Scattergories, Catch Phrase, the card game Speed, jumping on the trampoline, cooking out on the grill, and watching our girls play in the swimming pool. Kobe and I stay on the same team when we play against friends and family. Otherwise, we have to play two out of three games to determine who the “real” winner is.

    Who’s your celebrity crush…we won’t tell! OK, we will, but tell us anyway!
    I don’t want to say…but Kobe knows who my crushes are and he thinks they are all “pretty boys.”

    Who has been your greatest role model?
    That is such a difficult question to answer. I have several role models. But I admire my mom for being an independent single mother and sole provider for my sister and me. I admire her for teaching me to be compassionate and giving, and teaching me to be a person of substance and character and not feed into what people think or falsely accuse me of being. I think that’s why people always gravitate to her for guidance. I’m sure those are some of the reasons my husband has a great and close relationship with my mom even though she’s not his own mother.
