Modernist architecture and great food beckon you to the city of flamenco
Get ready to pronounce those Cs as THs because there is nothing we love better than a little Barthelona. The second-largest city in Spain is a sexy mix of amazing food, stunning Gaudi architecture, great fashion, and fabulous flamenco dancing to get everyone’s heart pumping.
2 Fab Things
Renowned architect Antonio Gaudi designed both the famous Park Guell and the La Sagrada de Familia, named World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
What better way to learn about wine than by making your own? Channel your inner Lucille Ball and roll up those pant legs because it’s a grape stomping time!
2 Fit Things
Flamenco is a passionate dance style that is huge in Spain. Whether you’re a pro or a newbie, all of the stomping and clapping makes for a fun full-body workout!
Bend it Like…Messi
Barcelona has one of the best soccer teams in the world. So channel your inner Leo Messi (Google him, he’s kind of a big deal in Barcelona) and head to the park! Soccer is a great way to burn calories and meet some local hotties! Score a goal and mention Messi — they won’t be able to resist you! Especially if you use the phrase, “I feel like one big hot Messi.”
2 Fun Things
No visit to Barcelona would be complete without a delicious sampling of the city’s world-famous specialty — tapas! If you’re looking for a place to go, check out Els Quatre Gats, the restaurant that hosted Picasso’s first art exhibition in 1899.
Make your way through the labyrinthine alleys of the Gothic Corner to check out some of the city’s hottest nightlife. The tiny streets are filled with great, albeit sometimes hard to find, bars and clubs that never seem to sleep.
What to Pack:
- Evening attire or a nice cocktail dress to hit the town in style for a night of food and dancing.
- Swimsuit: Ibiza, the famous island of sun, sand, and sounds is just a short flight away.
How to Get Around:
- There are plenty of public transportation options, including Barcelona’s metro system, buses, and aerial trams.
