Thirsty Thursday: Whiskey Business
Three whiskey sips
It’s low-carb, fat-free, heart-healthy, and can lower your risk of having a stroke. Yep, whiskey just might be the next super food! (OK, maybe not…but we can at least feel a little better about imbibing.)
The drink that was once used as currency in the 18th century still is considered as good as gold in our book. In fact, with 5,000 varieties, it’s hard to pick just one! That’s why we were so excited to discover the whiskey flight from W Hotel NYC! Yep, three cocktails using different types of whiskey, all mixed to perfection, and offered through November. Try the recipes below, and if you weren’t into whiskey before, you definitely will be now!
And did we mention that Hillary Clinton is a fan? (As if you needed another reason to pour yourself a shot.)
Muddled sugar cube with a tiny dash of soda water
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1 dash Regan’s Orange Bitters
2 ounces Buffalo Trace
In glass, combine all ingredients.
2 ounces Rittenhouse Rye
1 ounce Antica Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Combine all ingredients. Garnish with lemon twist.
2 Pony Kick
2 dashes Xocolatl Bitters
1 teaspoon Demerara
2 ounces coffee and cacao Bean-infused Makers Mark
Combine all ingredients. Garnish with orange and lemon twists.
