Thirsty Thursday: Seasonal Skinny Cranberry and Vanilla
A refreshing winter concoction

So the holidays are over, but the weather outside has made it quite clear that we’ve still got a few more months before we’re laying poolside with a fruity drink in our hand. Rather than dwell on the sub-zero temperatures (in LA, anything below 75 is considered “sub-zero”), we’ve decided to take a look at the bright side. For one, we’ve got some time to get our bodies back into bikini shape (we’re not about to let that new year’s gym membership go to waste). And two, winter is a great time to use cold weather fruit — like fresh cranberries — in a delish mixed drink!
We’re uh-bsessed with this Cranberry + Vanilla seasonal skinny cocktail from The Fromagette! Not only is it the perfect complement for winter months, but it’s sugar-free and loaded with vitamin C (more than a day’s worth!), which means you won’t have to worry about any healthy New Year’s resolutions getting derailed.
The Fromagette’s Seasonal Skinny Cranberry and Vanilla
Juice + zest of 3 large navel oranges
2 12-ounce bags fresh cranberries, rinsed and picked over
1/2 cup Truvia
2 cups water
3 cups vanilla vodka (Absolut is a good choice)
1 large bottle sparkling water
1. Puree the juice, zest, whole cranberries and 2 cups water in blender, then push through a sieve to remove solids.
2. Transfer into a pitcher, add the Truvia and vodka and mix.
3. To serve: fill each glass with ice, add vodka mixture to the 3/4 point (or to taste) and top off with sparkling water. Give it a gentle stir and garnish with orange zest and cranberries.
