Tweak Your Mask
If you’re part of the POUND Posse or follow our friends over at FabFitFun, then you’re most likely a fan of gettin’ dirty.
Dirty, as in sweaty, we mean! (PG-13, people, PG-13!)
If you work-that-thang-out on-the-reg and occasionally wear makeup, then you might notice your skin feelin’/lookin’ dull, bumpy or just-plain-tired. We are with you! With all the sweating we do, deep-cleaning treatment is constantly needed–but, of course, we always aim to avoid cleansing with harsh chemicals or agents that strip our skin of it’s natural flora.
Solution? A pure, effective, natural treatment: tweak your mask! (Not the Halloween kind, although if you need a last-minute costume idea…)
This tweak kills three birds with one stone. The birds we speak of? Blackheads, whiteheads and dullness. Dig what we’re sayin’ so far? We thought so.
1 tablespoon powdered Bentonite clay
1 tablespoon raw organic apple cider vinegar
In a tiny bowl, combine apple cider vinegar and blend until a thick paste forms.
Apply a thin layer to your face, zooming in on areas with blackheads, whiteheads, and oiliness. For sensitive skin, leave the mask on 10-15 minutes. For deeper impurities, leave the mask on for 20 minutes.
As the mask dries, it will start to feel very (yes, seriously, very) tight on your skin. We sometimes like to see how long we can maintain our normal faces while carrying on conversations. You’ll see how challenging this becomes. Don’t worry, the results will be worth it!
To remove, begin by applying a warm washcloth to the face to dampen the hardened clay. Gently rinse and gradually remove the clay. This might take a few minutes.
After your face is clean, you’ll notice that the Bentonite sucked out all your blackheads. Amazing! Did you know that Bentonite is used to draw impurities out of wine and the bacteria out of wounds, too? And, apple cider vinegar zaps microbes and tones the skin. Win, win!
Now, we’ll be waiting for your #tweakyourmask #tuesdaytweak pics this week, so make sure you post up on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!!
Keepin’ it clean,
