A Midair Toning Sesh
First came anti-gravity yoga, which has taken NYC by storm in the last year. But now, you can switch up your regular Pilates sesh with a version that also suspends you in midair.
It’s done at popular NYC yoga studio YogaWorks, which is also home to the popular anti-gravity yoga class. Using the same anti-gravity hammock, this new class helps tone and tighten the entire body with traditional Pilates moves, all while dangling from the aforementioned hammock (nope, sorry, the hammock is not for napping). Even those signature mat and reformer moves — you’ll still do toning and tightening moves like the Pilates hundred series — are done with suspension.
It’s a great way to switch things up if you tend to get bored with your workout. And we hear that it’s also quite hard to cheat when you’re suspended in midair, making this an all-around effective workout for your itsy bitsy bikini bod.
