Meatless Monday: Berry Veg Blend Smoothie
Meet your fruit and veggie quota!
We’re all guilty of it. We toss a few blueberries in our oatmeal and some broccoli next to our chicken (or tofurkey) and assume that we’ve made our daily quota of necessary fruits and veggies.
But the truth is that less than 10% of Americans actually eat the recommended target of fruit each day — and it is even less for our vegetable intake! (And guess what, adding a few more blueberries just ain’t gonna cut it!)
Luckily registered dietitian, nutritionist, and Jamba Healthy Living Council member Tara Gidus (MS, RD, CSSD, LD/N), has our back. She’ll be giving us all the education we need in a Fruit and Veggie Deficit Webinar sponsored by Jamba Juice. (Plus she shared a very special veggie and fruit smoothie with us below!)
Tara will discuss findings from studies conducted by the CDC and USDA on the lack of produce consumption in the average American diet. She’ll go over the most up-to-date nutritional guidelines along with their pros and cons and give tips on how to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our day!
Join the webinar live over the internet tomorrow night (Tuesday, April 2) at 3 p.m. Eastern/noon Pacific. Register here now!
