New NBC Show for Fey - FabFitFun

New NBC Show for Fey

by  |

Great news for 30 Rock fans who are still morning the loss of Liz Lemon. Tina Fey, the woman who gave life to our favorite female TV curmudgeon, will make her mark on a number of new series next fall.

Fresh off of her Emmy win for co-writing 30 Rock‘s final episode, NBC announced yesterday that Fey (and her partner Robert Carlock) will write and produce a single-camera comedy about a woman who escapes a doomsday cult and starts a new life in New York City. No word yet on whether Fey will get any screen time, but the new series, tentatively titled Tooken, will star a fellow actress from the peacock network. The Office‘s Ellie Kemper has been cast in the leading role.

One thing’s for sure: next year will be a busy one for the SNL alum.

Along with Tooken, Fey will also produce a half-hour comedy series for Fox about a women’s college that begins admitting men for the first time, and she’ll host the Golden Globes in 2014 with her BFF, Amy Poehler. That’s in addition to another NBC comedy she’s producing with former 30 Rock writer Colleen McGuinness, about a woman who reconnects with her father on Fire Island.

If all of that weren’t enough, rumor has it that the Mean Girls musical she’s working on with musician husband, Jeff Richmond, “is actually becoming a thing!” (So fetch!)

Liz Lemon would be proud!
