Lacey Goes VIP
She has hit the dance floor with legends such as Steve-O from Jackass, Lance Bass from N*Sync, and Chaz Bono from…well, Cher and Sonny’s marriage. Now she’s hitting the gym as a brand ambassador for Lady Foot Locker’s VIP Program! We caught up with Dancing with the Stars’ Lacey Schwimmer to get the inside scoop.
Before we delve into the real questions though, let’s address that nagging elephant in the room that everyone has been dying to know since Lacey first made it big: Yes, she is a second cousin to Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) from Friends. Ahh, what a relief, glad we got that out of the way.
But aside from being related to our favorite paleontologist and founder of the “I Hate Rachel Green” Club, Lacey has made a name for herself by taking the dance world by storm and becoming an idol to aspiring dancers worldwide. The talented performer is now expanding her influence by creating videos of dance-inspired workout tips for Lady Foot Locker!
We’re huge fans of your fab new video series (which you can check out here)! What can people expect and why did you decide to partner with LFL?
Thanks! I decided to partner with Lady Foot Locker’s VIP Program because it embraces all women, no matter what shape or size. They promote a healthy lifestyle and that’s what I’m all about! They created a VIP program for discounts and incentives for their consumers, and I knew I had to be part of that! I mean, who doesn’t love a discount?!
You designed all of your amazing DWTS costumes, have you ever thought of starting your own line of dancewear?
Yes, I’m actually in the process of creating a line of costumes for Discount Dance Supply. The line is funky, fresh and inexpensive!
What music gets you pumped up when you work out?
LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It, Rihanna’s We Found Love, and my single Love Soundz.
That’s right, your debut single Love Soundz was released in June 2011. Do you plan to really focus on your music career going forward?
Absolutely! In fact, I will be releasing an album later this year!
With your crazy busy schedule it must be hard to find time to eat. What are your favorite on-the-go healthy meals and snacks?
Breakfast: egg whites with diced tomatoes, basil and Parmesan; lunch: soup and salad; dinner: grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and rice.
What is one food you wish had zero calories?
Well Lacey, we couldn’t agree more and love your balanced attitude toward fitness and health. Plus, we can’t wait to try out all of the awesome moves on your videos! Who knows — maybe you’ll even see us auditioning for So You Think You Can Dance (or…in the cupcake shop).
