  • LA Agenda Oct. 3-9

There’s no need to feel guilty for indulging in a few decadent chocolate and cocktail events, as long as you make up for it with a calorie-busting bike ride. The perfect weekend is all about balance, and we’ve got you covered!

Designer and the Muse Fashion Event

    Thurs. Oct. 3, 6-9 p.m.
River 31 Lounge at the Sofitel Beverly Hills, 8555 Beverly Blvd., Beverly Hills

Start your weekend a day early by sipping on complimentary cocktails and perusing gorge offerings from designers like Sue Wong, Dalia MacPhee, and Michael Costello. If the drinks and fashion aren’t enough to brighten your week, knowing a portion of profits will be donated to breast cancer relief organization, Breast Cancer Angels, will definitely put you over the top.

    The All-Star Mixology Competition

    Thus. Oct. 3, 7-10 p.m.
Unici Casa, 9461 Jefferson Blvd., Culver City

Mixologists from favorites like The Spare Room, SHORE Bar, and Toscana will go head to head in an all-out battle of the booze while you cheer on your favorites and sample their intoxicating offerings. Proceeds benefit Covenant House California’s work with homeless, at-risk, and trafficked youth.

    WestEdge Design Fair

Thurs. Oct. 3-Sun. Oct. 6, various times
Barker Hangar, 3021 Airport Ave., Santa Monica

Whether you’re in the market for a whole new living room or just looking for a little interior design inspiration, this four-day modern design showcase will make you feel like you’re walking through home furnishing heaven complete with café and beer garden! Stroll through over the weekend, or hit up the opening night party (benefiting Heal The Bay) for cocktails and some serious schmoozing with industry leaders.

    Sun. Sept. 6, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
    MacArthur Park, 2230 W. 6th St., Westlake

Our favorite form of community exercise is back this weekend, and hitting the streets for an all-day bicycle ride through downtown. Since road closures for the event will have you sitting in traffic for hours anyway, you might as well ditch the car and join the two-wheel parade through the heart of the city.

    The Seventh Annual
    Los Angeles Chocolate Salon

    Sun. Oct. 6, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Pasadena Center, 300 Green St., Pasadena

Prepare yourself for a happiness overload as you feast your eyes (and your mouth, obvi.) on some of the finest gourmet chocolates worldwide. Attendees will be treated to tastings, demonstrations, and chef talks as they make their way through this chocolate wonderland. We officially give you permission to leave your diet at home!

    Bowling for Boobies

    Sun. Oct. 6, 5-8 p.m.
Pinz Bowling Center, 12655 Ventura Blvd., Studio City

Kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month the right way with a night of dancing, mingling, and of course, bowling. Besides three hours of unlimited bowling, you’ll get to enjoy drinks, appetizers, and the chance to meet some of the women who have benefitted from past events. Reward yourself for your good deed by snapping some celeb-style photos on the pink carpet on your way in to the alley!

    Plan Ahead:

    Cocktails with Claudia

    Thurs. Oct. 17, 6-8 p.m.
Dermalogica, 1022 Montana Ave., Santa Monica

Join a fab group of local remarkable women (including our very own editor-in-chief, Katie Rosen Kitchens), and learn about “falling into new opportunities.” Women's leadership and lifestyle expert Claudia Chan will help you put your best face forward (with a little help from Dermalogica’s skin care treatments) as you build networking skills and enjoy a few drinks.
