LA Agenda Sept. 12-18
From lobster feasts to discount designer clothing, let us be your go-to guide on when to save and when to splurge this weekend. We promise your wallet, stomach, and taste buds will thank us!
Thurs. Sept. 12-Fri. Sept. 13, 2-6 p.m.
Participating Coffee Bean locations
It isn’t really fall until we’ve had our fill of delicious pumpkin coffee drinks. Thankfully, Coffee Bean knows we’re jonesing for an autumn-flavored fix, serving up pumpkin lattes and their brand-new chocolate hazelnut latte through Nov. 3. But this week, stop by and get two new drinks for the price of one. We won’t judge if you decide to keep both for yourself!
Thurs. Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m.
1100 Glendon Ave., Westwood
A hard work week deserves a splurge. Start your weekend off right with a four-course food and wine extravaganza! For $125 you’ll get dishes like butternut squash agnolotti, braised beef cheeks, and orange layer cake. Savor your cuisine with delish wine pairings from Merryvale Winery!
Fri. Sept. 13, 5 p.m.
Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave., Santa Monica
Fright fiends can get a taste of Halloween a little early this year, thanks to a stroke of calendar good luck (or bad luck) that’s got Friday the 13th stirring up trouble in September. Grab a hot date and check out the first four films of the Friday the 13th franchise. It’s the perfect excuse to play up the fear factor and snuggle a little closer to your man every time you get “scared.”
Fri. Sept. 13-Sat. Sept. 14, 8 p.m.-midnight
345 N. La Brea Ave., Hancock Park
As any good Germanophile knows, Oktoberfest is more of a mindset than an event. Get ready by competing in a beer stein holding contest, then chow down on some traditional sausage (there’s a competition for that too). Just don’t forget to wear your lederhosen!
Fri. Sept. 13-Sun. Sept 15, various times
1199 Nagoya Way, San Pedro
Even if you can muster up the willpower to avoid chowing down on one (or 12) of the 20,000 Maine lobsters being flown in every day of this delish festival, there are still plenty of reasons to head down to San Pedro this weekend. If the seafood and live music don’t satisfy you, you can feast your eyes on Lobsterfest organizers as they attempt to break three crustacean-related world records.
Sat. Sept. 14, 10 a.m-4 p.m.
8755 Washington Blvd., Culver City
That’s right — 20,000 pieces of vintage designer clothing and accessories — all under $50. Just to sweeten the deal, there will be a tailor on site to do simple alterations after you’ve scooped up the perfect new look.
Sun. Sept. 15, 1-8 p.m.
550 S. Flower St., Downtown
Get your groove on at this Miami-style end-of-summer event. DJs, bathing suits, sunshine, and…popsicles! What a better way to spend a Sunday than to dance the day away on a rooftop with beautiful people? An RSVP is required; reserve here.
Sun. Sept. 15, 5 p.m.
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
There’s never a dull moment when Dave Chappelle is around, especially when he’s part of a comedy festival presented by the hilar folks at Funny or Die. Chapelle will be joined onstage by adorbs musical-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords and a host of other awesome comedians.
Sun. Sept. 15, various times
367 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills
Skip the boozy Sunday brunch and work out for a good cause instead. Proceeds from these yoga and Pilates classes benefit SoCal Hearts, a charity helping local foster kids. Afterward, reward yourself for your good deed by checking out the Lorna Jane trunk show.

Santa Monica Museum of Art, 2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica
OK, OK. This event doesn’t happen until next month, but it sounds so cool we had to tell you about it now. Even though we don’t know much about this “secret dinner in the forest” courtesy of Wolvesmouth, we do know it’s bound to be one of the most interesting meals you’ve ever had.
