LA Agenda Feb. 21-27
Looking to mix up your standard social routine? We’ve rounded up some seriously fab events to help you burn some calories, plan an adventure and just have a good ol’ time!
Sun. Feb. 24, 6:30 a.m.
NTC Park at Liberty Station, 2640 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego
Ready, set, run! Head down to San Diego for this girls only race. Whether you run, jog, or walk this 13.1-mile course with your besties, you’ll feel amazing after you cross the finish line. Grab your medal then celebrate with a cocktail seaside. You’ve earned it!
Thurs. Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m.
Pasadena Museum of History, Pasadena
If the oldest film you’ve seen is Casablanca, then you haven’t experienced a true vintage moviegoing experience! Long before 3-D and HD, films were silent and enhanced with live music and performers. To participate in this one-of-a-kind feature, get yourself and your cinephile buddies over to Pasadena!
Sun. Feb. 24, 8 a.m.
945 N. Broadway, Chinatown
Looking beyond that itsy bitsy bikini for running inspiration? Described as beautiful and challenging, the 10k course will test your fitness skills and lend a view of LA from the highest point of Elysian Park most Angelenos never see…and there’s a 5k option, too! Proceeds benefit Need2Read literacy fund for local elementary schools (who knew staying fit and battling illiteracy could go hand in hand?) and dogs are welcome. Pack that extra water bottle for Rex and start training!
Tues. Feb. 26, 8 p.m.
Ahmanson Theatre, 135 N. Grand Ave., Bunker Hill
Do you love food? Do you love the Beatles? Do you wish there was an event that combined your love of food with your love of the Beatles?! If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the night for you! First, enjoy an uh-mazing dinner at Shabu Shabu house (seriously, if you haven’t been, this place is amazing). Afterward, head to the Ahmanson Theatre to watch Backbeat, the story of how the Beatles became the Beatles. So “come together” with friends or cruise solo, either way this is bound to be great night!
Open daily, various times
Reebok CrossFit Lab, 8466 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood
Looking for the perfect way to get bikini ready ASAP? Then get yourself over to this CrossFit gym where the workouts are tough and the teachers are amazing. You’ll squat, jump, and burpee your way into fab shape in no time with these hourlong classes. Newbies also get the first foundation class for free!
