A Cut Above the Rest
JCPenney salons give back for BCA month
If there’s one thing we love, it’s seeing people go above and beyond to help another person out. In September we saw Kellie Pickler shave her blonde locks off as a gesture to her childhood friend, Summer Miller, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. (And let us tell you, both ladies looked Natalie Portman-fierce with their new short ‘dos!)
That’s why we are so pleased to hear that our friends at JCPenney are giving back in a really big way. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the store’s salons — more than 900 nationwide — will offer free haircuts and styling to breast cancer survivors! and for every free cut, JCPenney will donate $1 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (up to $50,000!).
And the love doesn’t stop there. Recently, Nick Stenson, artistic director for JCP Salons, put together a video giving tips on the right tools to style short hair. It can be hard to make a transition to a new look, and for cancer survivors especially, loving their cropped hair can make a big difference! Check out his quick tips here and feel the love!
