Humpday Hottie: Robin Thicke
What rhymes with ‘hug me?’
Could it be…twerk me? According to one pig-tailed former child star, that is correct! But hey, hey, hey we can’t really blame Miley for being jailbait when Robin was dressed like he just escaped the local penitentiary.
All in the name of good entertainment. (OK, “good” is up for debate, but it was definitely worth talking about!) Yup, Robin sure knows how to put on a show, and that’s why we love him! Here are a few more reasons we can’t get enough of the artist formerly known as “Thicke.”
1. He’s a musical genius! Robin taught himself how to play piano at only 12 years old, and by the time he was 16 he was penning tunes for Brandy and Brian McKnight. At age 21, he had already written and produced songs for more than 20 gold and platinum albums including Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Pink, and even Michael Jackson!
2. He’s going to age well! How do we know? Well, just take a look at papa, Alan Thicke! The actor best-known for playing dad Jason Seaver on Growing Pains not only still looks good at the age of 66, he’s also got a full head of “thicke” hair!
3. He’s not afraid to push the boundaries! Robin has been making R&B tunes for years but really blew up airwaves with “Blurred Lines,” this summer. He recently released the music video for Give it 2 U featuring Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz, which sheds a little light on the “creative stylings” of his VMA performance. (Spoiler Alert: It’s a referee uniform, not a Humburglar costume).
4. He’s a doting husband and father! Rob met his gorgeous wife, Paula Patton, at a teen night club at only 16 years old. They began dating the next year and married in 2005. Oh, and did you notice that adorable little guy in the “Give it 2 U” video? That’s their 3-year-old son Julian Fuego Thicke (who clearly has a thing for foam fingers, better keep him away from Miley)!
