Humpday Hottie: Linebacker Smackdown
Super Bowl hotties go head-to-head
The Super Bowl is the ultimate in rivalries. Niners vs. Ravens, Jim Harbaugh vs. John Harbaugh, our grandma vs. our younger brother (trust us, Gram gets feisty when it comes to her 49ers).
But to us, the biggest competition of all comes down to this: Who has the hotter team members?! Yup, while everyone else is crunching numbers, betting on players stats and pulling for their fave, we’re scoping out the major man candy. Because hey — no matter who we deem hotter, there is only one winner in this game: Us.
Standing at 6-foot-1 with 225 pounds of solid muscle is Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo. The Nigerian-Irish stud actually grew up in Santa Cruz, CA, and was a 49ers fan. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be taking it easy on the Niners; the linebacker can make a mean tackle and has been selected to play in the Pro Bowl three times as a special teams player. Oh — and if you thought he was just a rough and tough football player, Ayanbadejo is also a husband and a daddy to a little girl named Anaya. He also is one of the biggest advocates in the NFL for LBGT rights and gay marriage. Yup, he’s just a big ol’ teddy bear!
On the other side of the field is the San Francisco 49ers’ Patrick Willis. The 6-foot-1, 240-lb. hunk hails from Tennessee and has been a star athlete since high school, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He attended Ole Miss and earned the Jack Lambert Award and the prestigious Dick Butkus Award (yep, that’s the real name) which is awarded to the most outstanding linebacker in college football. Drafted to the Niners in 2007, Willis has been with the team ever since, and was the first NFL player to make five Pro Bowl appearances from the beginning of his career.
So which guy is hotter? Well we’re calling this one a tie. After all, we wouldn’t want to make one of them angry and risk getting tackled! (OK, maybe we would…)
