If you were born with J. Lo’s locks, Megan Fox’s brows, Kim Kardashian’s lashes and were virtually hairless everywhere else, you’d be a miracle woman, medical marvel, and likely unpopular due to overwhelming jealousy. Unfortunately, most of us live in a constant world of shaving, tweezing, waxing, threading, and lasering. The options can seem endless, so we went straight to the queen of hair removal and former Real Housewife, Cindy Barshop, for the lowdown.
Her first suggestion? To hit up one of her fab Completely Bare spas which offer laser and waxing treatments. Can’t get to the spa? Not to worry, Cindy dished some must-read tips for our most commonly landscaped areas:
Brows: Unibrows are never cute, so Cindy recommends tweezing stray hairs every couple of days to make sure they don’t get out of hand. In order to make sure you don’t change the shape your eyebrow specialist gave you, try penciling or coloring in the eyebrow shape you prefer before you tweeze. Remember: you can always take more off, but it takes some time for them to grow.
Bikini: Most popular grooming style of the bikini area? Surprisingly, Brazilian now comes in second after completely bare. (Yes, just so everyone knows, both include the inner buttocks. You’re welcome for asking.)
Legs: After shaving, Cindy said to try Completely Smooth, a hair-inhibiting moisturizer that’s available through her online store. It contains the natural plant extract capislow, which slows growth so you shave less.
Underarms: Always use a clean razor and do not use the same razor too many times. A must-have product is Bikini Bump Blaster (which works anywhere). It contains glycolic acid which exfoliates and salicylic acid which cleans and disinfects the area. They work together to treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
For at-home tanning and teeth whitening, Cindy recommends L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Gradual Self Tanning Lotion or Sally Beauty Salon Bronze and good old Crest Whitestrips.
