Cocktails for a Cause
Warm up with HUB 51’s Generous Drinks
Oh, winter weather, you’re such a tease. We were beginning to wonder and worry if you would ever show up at all. No, wait, who are we kidding? We were hoping that those 60-degree December days would last all month, Mayor Emanuel would re-open Chicago’s patios and rooftops, and we could wear our cute peplum dress sans tights to this year’s holiday office party. Instead, we’re dusting off our down-filled coats and bracing for that cold, Lake Michigan wind.
But we’ve got just the treat to warm you up from the inside out. FFF favorite Hub 51 has opened their hearts (and their bar!) to the American Red Cross. And we all benefit. Every drink sold from their menu of specialty cocktails means one dollar will be donated to the Red Cross disaster relief fund. Now that’s something we’ll raise a glass to.
The bartenders have even shared their delish recipe for the Chipotle Margarita with our readers. Try whipping up this summery cocktail in your own kitchen, then meet us for a second round at the bar!
3/4 ounce chipotle vodka (like Hangar One)
3/4 ounce reposado tequila (Cazadores suggested)
1 1/4 ounce agave nectar
1 1/4 ounce lime juice
Shake ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into glass garnished with a lime and salted rim.
xx, The FabFitFun Chicago Team
