Brittany Snow: Your New Bestie!
The actress shares her fave ways to be fit, stylish, and fun
Brittany Snow is the BFF you’ve always wanted. She’s sweet but funny, she’s the perfect workout buddy but she’ll still dive into froyo with you, and her favorite way to spend a day off is with her gal pals driving along the beach and creating an imaginary music video inside her head (we thought it was just us!).
And as if that wasn’t enough to instantly adore her, wait until you see her sing her bootie off in our new obsession, Pitch Perfect, out in theaters everywhere today. It’s like Glee meets Clueless meets seven different kinds of amazing. You’ll laugh out loud, you’ll dance in your seat (without caring if anyone around you gives you a weird look) and you’ll have a whole new fab soundtrack for the next time you (and your new bestie, Brit) create a music video in your head.
From her favorite snack to her favorite workout, Brittany told us all about her faves:
What is your favorite way to work out?
I feel best when I’m doing something that’s hard and intense like boxing or lifting weights. I work with a trainer and I do the elliptical, since I can’t run anymore (I have a back injury).
How many days a week do you work out?
Lately it’s not been that great, but I usually work out three or four times a week. If I want to step it up then I try to do five. I have an elliptical in my house so there is really no excuse not to do it. But it’s actually more daunting than if I had to go to the gym, since I can always say “I’ll do it later”!
What’s your fave music to work out to?
I listen to everything dubstep-ish because that gets me amped. Or rap, which is weird because I only listen to it when I’m working out.
When it comes to your eating, are there any rules you follow?
Not as much as I used to. I used to be a big dieter but now I try to do things that are semi good for me. I did a juice cleanse last week — and that was horrible — but I know that it did good things for me! I try to eat healthy but I don’t know how I get away with some stuff. Last night I think I ate an entire bag of tortilla chips and guacamole by myself!
Favorite thing to cook?
I can’t cook anything! My boyfriend does most of the cooking! But I’m a really big cooking show person. I have a fascination with Top Chef and any of those shows. I find it so fascinating how they make art out of food.
People always think I am lying when I say this, but I think I could snack on fruit for the rest of my life. I love it! I think that’s the healthiest snack that I eat. I also love frozen yogurt. I have it way too often. I’m just obsessed with frozen yogurt. Frozen yogurt and hummus!
You have such great style! What is your favorite item in your closet?
I got these lace-up vintage boots in New Orleans a really long time ago. I’ve had them for six years and I wear them all the time. I think they are the best and I can’t find anything like them anywhere.
Favorite nail polish color?
The people who name polish colors are either drunk or having the best time because the names they come up with are crazy! I was recently debating between Friar Friar Pants on Fire, I’m Not Really a Waitress, and Pillow Talk…the craziest names!
Favorite beauty product you can’t live without?
Once a week I do a hair mask and face mask at home and pretend I’m at a spa! There is a Frederic Fekkai mask that I love to use and a Mario Badescu mask that I use on my face.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
I love going to the beach with my friends, driving with the top down, and eating on the beach. I pretend it’s summer and I do a music video in my head and I’m like “yeah, I’m at the beach!” And I forget I have to work. That is my favorite.
Describe your perf date night.
My boyfriend took me on a date recently that was really cute but intense. We went power boating in the open ocean. I think it was fun that he wanted to think of something different to do.
Favorite memory from working on Pitch Perfect?
My favorite memory would have to be the finale where all the girls come together and are singing, dancing, and looking out in the crowd. The energy that revolved around that scene was really something cool. There aren’t many movies where you get to sing, dance, and act at the same time.
Favorite musical number from the movie?
“No Diggity!” It is my favorite song in the movie! (FFF note: we agree! Add this to your iPod immediately!)
