Primo al Fresco
Summer in Chicago may be shorter than those dresses Britney’s been rocking at The X Factor auditions, but we know how to make the most of it. While the rest of the country is still recovering from Memorial Day, we’re combing the city in our neon cutoffs, seeking the best patios and coolest rooftops. We want somewhere new and exciting, a place we can reminisce about after the cold weather returns and our spray tans have faded.
The Anthem in Wicker Park is already one of our favorite spots for outdoor dining, so when we heard they were rolling out treats like Grey Goose popsicles and pitchers of summer punch, we immediately made a happy hour reservation to check things out. The verdict? Patio perfection.
We recommend heading over to the Division Street hotspot for their Sunday brunch and prime people watching. Grab one of the coveted spots outside and order up a round of Sofia sparkling white wine with St. Germain to sip on while you rehash the previous night with your girls. Going with your guy? Try a pitcher of margaritas and some of Anthem’s world-class wings.
Oh, and check out their sports schedule so you don’t miss a Cubs game on their gigantic projection screen. If you’re not really feeling the outdoor, eating-in-the-sun type of experience, snag a seat inside. All of the restaurant’s windows open to the patio so you can enjoy the warm breeze without the accidental sunburn.
