Clearing It Up
Acne is a no-no when it comes to looking your best. We can cover it up with the right makeup but it doesn’t actually make it disappear (sadly). Plus, covering it up with tons of makeup can give off the wrong look (fake instead of dewy and flawless Victoria’s Secret skin). The worst thing ever is when your skin decides to be ridiculous instead of fabulous right before a party, date, or any other big event.
Instead of punishing your skin by picking at it, cursing at it, or putting a frown on your face, you should take the time to pamper the ridiculousness right out of your skin. Positive energy and the right product will get you further. Trust us, you will seriously notice a difference.
Murad Acne Treatment Concealer $21: Sure, you can treat your blemishes at night with a crazy facial mask. But what can you do during the day? This little concealer stick from Murad provides natural-looking coverage while secretly fighting those pesky pimples!
Erno Laszlo Anti-Blemish Beta Purifying Mask $50: Treat your skin with a soothing, detoxifying mask. The mask features salicylic acid for gentle exfoliation, eucalyptus and peppermint extracts to reduce redness and irritation, and calendula, arnica, and sage to tone and moisturize skin.
Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation $55: This breakthrough liquid-to-powder formula absorbs oil, camouflages imperfections, and delivers a long-lasting velvet matte finish—without the need for touch-ups.
St. Ives Blemish and Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub $3.29: St. Ives was “all natural” before it was cool to be “all natural’! We’ve been a fan of this scrub for years for its natural microbeads, which exfoliate and cleanse, along with apricot extract to moisturize and nourish the skin!
June Jacobs Anti-Aging Blemish Control Peel Pads $48: These paraben-free peel pads with 2% salicylic acid treat existing blackheads and blemishes and help prevent new acne from forming. Alpha hydroxy acids work together with all-natural ingredients to help promote cell turnover, soothe irritated skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment $22: Hormonal breakouts can be a total bitch (sorry, just the hormones talking). Banish them overnight with this potent solution containing the highest level of sulfur allowed in order to calm your skin!
Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Overnight Repair Salicylic Acid Pads $39: An acne treatment that’s as effective as it is convenient? Now that’s a philosophy we can get behind! These pre-treated pads feature salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells and clear you up for good!
Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin System $125: Give pimples the brush off with this electronic skin clearing system! The compact brush gently clears pores and can remove 6 times more makeup than manual cleansing!
dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash $35: You would think those pimples would’ve faded with the days of boy bands and awkward school photos. However, acne shouldn’t have to have an ongoing annoying presence like an early morning commute. With such rave reviews, this skin wash is a must-try, as well as all of dermalogica’s acne-fighting, skin care line!
Sephora Collection Acne Fighting Roll-On Gel $12: Getting rid of your pimples couldn’t be easier with this roll-on gel. It comes in a small tube that you can discreetly use in case of an acne emergency and it goes on clear so the gel will do its work while you do yours! Plus, it simply rolls on so you can get the perfect application each time.
